Buying first sailing boat/yacht

Hi All,

I am looking for our first sailing boat/yacht and have a few questions that I would like some advice on.

1/ I like the look of the classic wooden yacht 4 berth approx 25 to 30
feet in length.

2/location is important to me as I live right in the center of England
and the ability to get there say twice a month would be great, so nothing much past a 3 hour journey would be better.

3/Mooring is important too and either river / lake or sea would be OK, so really open to suggestions here as I have no idea which is best.

4/I am looking for a family retreat at weekends to get away stay on board and enjoy the location too as we have a dog.

5/ Budget is 20k max as this is my first boat/yacht...I don't mind a bit of a project as long as it's generally sound.
